Unlike almost all Dad’s and many Mom’s, I get to eat lunch with my kids most days of the year. Actually I usually eat all three meals with my family. It may sound simple, but its a great benefit of homeschooling. I am actually sitting down to write this post after enjoying a great lunch of sausage, egg and cheese filled biscuits fresh from the oven. The kids loved them and we all ate together.

Some days I work from my home office making our family lunch time the obvious choice. If I have to work away from the house, I am usually close enough to take a break and spend lunch time at home.

Our family uses the time to go over what the kids have been learning each morning. Occasionally the time is used for Dad to inform the kids that he backs up Mom’s decisions for them and expects to hear they did the right thing for the remainder of the day.

I don’t have to buy trendy new lunch boxes each year. I don’t have to check my children out at the school office and return them at the appropriate time. I get to just sit down and eat. I can’t think of a better way to break up the workday than by spending a few moments together as a family over lunch.

No matter what, its a great opportunity to spend some moments of our life together. As a bonus, eating at home saves quite a bit of money and is healthier that dining at restaurants.

This video was produced by the Tides foundation and is being shown in many government schools around the nation. I hardly know where to begin exposing the errors in “The Story of Stuff.” This video is packed full of inaccurate facts and skewed statistics that teach our children a false view of America. I could go on (maybe in a future post). For now, watch this segment and notice that at 2:10 Annie Leonard teaches the children that its the government’s job to take care of us. I would prefer that my children learn the role of government from the Constitution and Bill of Right as opposed to the Tides Foundation and Annie Leonard.

I took a quick look at the Tides website and noticed their mission statement:

Our mission is to partner with philanthropists, foundations, activists, and organizations across the country and across the globe to promote economic justice, robust democratic processes, and the opportunity to live in a healthy and sustainable environment where human rights are preserved and protected.

I hope most people will recognize that the term “economic justice” as a politically correct way of saying redistribution of wealth. My children are not being groomed into good little comrades. They are learning to love their county. They are learning of their responsibility to take care of themselves. They are learning that hard work and profitable employment is what they should look to for their fmaily’s support, not their (supposedly) rich Uncle Sam.

The principal of the school, Dr. Denise King was unapologetic about the issue and would allow the children to sing the song again, this according to parents who spoke to her about the incident. Superintendent Christopher Manno was more upset about the film being taken and released on YouTube than the fact that the kids were singing what many believe to be political propaganda. He wrote in a note to the parents, “the recording and distribution of the class activity were unauthorized”.

This site exists to answer the many skeptics and critics of homeschooling. Many question the quality of education a home schooled child is receiving. Others wonder how they will ever develop needed social skills. I have grown weary of people’s reactions to learning my children do not attend the state’s child training facilities. Whenever they glare, I smile and politely explain how my children are far ahead of their public school counterparts, and they are adapting quite well socially.

However, I really want to explain to them that:

Parents actually do have a fundamental right to educate their children that far surpasses any supposed right of the state.

Instead of learning to doubt everything their parents believed about their country and planet was wrong, my children are learning appreciate their heritage.

Being able to conduct an intelligent discussion with an adult is actually evidence of good social skills.

Many public schools bear more resemblance to government indoctrination camps than educational centers.

I want my children to learn accurate accounts of history and science.

I could continue this list almost indefinitely, but you probably see where I’m coming from.

This website is born out of frustration at the sad situation of America. A situation that can only deteriorate while children are being norished with false information. This doctrine is being fed to them by government educators motivated to create a communistic society.

I’m sure many of you who have kept reading this far are having a hard time believing that I am serious. Well, stay tuned to this website, I will not only prove my seriousness, I will prove my points.

” He alone, who owns the youth, gains the future”. - Adolf Hitler

Why do I homeshchool?

I don’t really have a choice.
